Health & Safety Engineer

EHS Engineer II-Hybrid
Fantastic opportunity to join a large multinational Medical Device Company in Cork. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3 years experience in pharmaceutical, manufacturing or chemical/biological safety. Please submit CV to [email protected] to discuss.

About the role:
Work week: Monday-Friday 39hr week with a 1pm Friday finish
Hybrid: 2 days work from home offered. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support new projects to ensure operational EHS readiness.
  • Complete EHS Design reviews of equipment and facilities.
  • Manage the company's safety training needs analysis for all employees within the organisation
  • Plan, develop and coordinate the company's risk management programme.
  • Develop and review Safe operating procedures.
  • Develop and implement health promotion programmes within the business.
  • Maintain compliance with EHS regulatory requirements including ISO45001, ISO14001 & ISO50001 and Global EHS standards.
  • Provide support and advice to safety representatives and safety committees.
  • Review and approve Site Safety permits
  • Support sites chemical management and IH programs.
  • Participate in the company’s safety walks and internal audit program
  • Maintain the sites chemical inventory.
  • Support the site’s waste management program.
  • Collaborate and support other functions within the business in promoting Environmental, Health and Safety behaviours.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Health and safety qualification with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in Manufacturing environment preferably medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Experience in Chemical and Biological Safety would be an advantage.
  • Proven behavioural change experience.
  • Good communicator
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Ability to influence at all levels in the organisation.
