IT Technician
IT Technician- 12 Month Contract
Excellent opportunity for an IT Technician to join a thriving company in Co. Galway.
The IT Technician will be responsible for providing a high level of technical support to Production Units on equipment PC hardware & software systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate understanding and compliance with quality and EH&S procedures.
- Troubleshooting, repair and recovery of PC hardware & software systems.
- Management of site Manufacturing Active Directory.
- Configuration & administration of sites Remote Access Software (Dameware).
- Carry out preventative maintenance to reduce downtime & ensure operational continuity.
- Assist in installation, configuration & testing of OT hardware/software systems.
- Implement and follow cybersecurity procedures for OT systems.
- Collaborate with IT for issues relating to OT/IT network interfaces, cybersecurity etc.
- Carry out up to date back up images using Acronis and implement network patch management for OT systems.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives relating to OT systems.
- Support installation of new OT systems and technologies.
- Maintain accurate records on Maintenance systems (e.g.: BM RAM, Knowledgebase).
- Minimise downtime on Equipment, through fast response, effective root cause analysis and good problem-solving techniques.
- Prioritise high Impacting equipment downtime issues in Production Unit. Issue Incident Reports on these issues as appropriate. Ensure any follow-up activities associated with the issue are documented and closed out effectively.
Key Requirements:
- Level 6 or equivalent Qualified in IT/similar
- Have 2 to 3 years experience working as a technician troubleshooting PC hardware, software and automated control systems.
- Knowledge of industrial networks and cybersecurity best practices.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory essential.
- Hands on experience with Acronis backup/imaging software essential.
- Configuration & administration of Remote Access Software (Dameware) desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a proven track record.
- Strong interpersonal and communication / presentation skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
- A proven history of controls systems debug & upgrade work.
- Experience in identifying and leading continuous improvement projects.
