Technical Sales Manager

Technical Sales Manager- Galway

Our client a global provider of electronic manufacturing services are looking to hire a Technical Sales Manager to join the management team.  They work with customers in five specialist areas: Medical Device, Automotive, Aviation, IOT and ICT. This role is suited to someone that has a strong knowledge of Electronic and Manufacturing Engineering and who has interfaced with customers on a commercial basis. They are seeking a positive and collaborative candidate with a strong interpersonal skills and who can forge strong relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate the commercial input to the company business plan and targets.
  • Create the revenue projection over two year horizon from approved accounts.
  • Together with the key account manager, be conversant with the top customers at a commercial and technical level.
  • Influence the strategic direction of the business in terms of future investments that deliver leading edge technology, quality and competitive supply chain.
  • Develop a rolling sales plan that sets and measures assertive growth for the business.
  • Input the commercial content for approved accounts into the annual budget process.
  • Deliver the new business from pre sales, enquiry, assessment, account management, quote to PO receipt.
  • Manage the sales pipeline from lead generation through queries and quotation to deliver the sales KPI’s
  • Work with the Business Development team with new customer introductions and existing customer relationship management.
  • Manage direct or virtual teams through various projects.
  • Have a strong understanding of new production introduction process (NPI).
  • Be involved in monitoring the progress of projects against agreed plans and managing activities to deliver against agreed goals.
  • Understand and input the quotations process for new products.
  • Operate at all times within the limits of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create the environment for positive change for the company.
  • As part of management team, you will be responsible to lead business improvement projects as agreed and input to wider management initiatives as requested.

Education and Experience

  • Degree (Level 7/8) in an electronics/engineering/technical discipline or equivalent
  •  5 years+ experience in a successful commercial role in the medical/electronics industry.
