EHS Specialist – Galway
Fantastic opportunity to join a thriving med device company in the Galway area.
Our client seek a candidate ideally from a manufacturing equipment related background who has expertise or training in equipment safety, health and safety or CE marking.
As part of the equipment safety team, your role will involve equipment risk assessments, safety reviews, CE marking, ATEX assessments, and advising equipment designers on directives and standards relating to equipment safety.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Performing and Co-ordinating hazard and risk assessments for manufacturing equipment built internally by the equipment group.
- Support Mechanical and Electrical Design engineers in the design of appropriate safety systems and safety architecture.
- Compilation of CE marking technical file documentation.
- Safety control system reviews to ensure compliance to CE standards.
- Ensuring equipment meets appropriate safety requirements.
- Review of safety of external vendor-built equipment.
- Support ATEX and FMEA assessments of new manufacturing processes.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5 Years relevant experience in a previous EHS role.
- Level 8 Qualification (Engineering, Electrical, EHS or other) required.
- Technical proficiency in areas of Mechanical and Electrical machinery safety desirable.
- Safety related certified training (e.g., PILZ Certified Machinery Safety Expert) an advantage.
- Excellent written, verbal and communication skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
- Proficient computer skills (e.g., MS Word, Excel, etc.) required.
