Financial Controller

For over twenty years my client has promoted green energy solutions and supported customers in moving from fossil fuel to renewable energy.  My client prides themselves in providing biomass and renewable solar energy technologies and energy solutions throughout Ireland.

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our team in this evolving and fast-moving sector.  This is an exciting opportunity for an accountant who wants to progress their career to the next level.
This role will report directly to the Managing Director and is based in our offices in Tipperary.  As the Financial Controller you will play an integral part for providing financial control, guidance, direction and leadership to the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations within the finance department, including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and cash reconciliation
  • Develop and maintain financial policies, controls, procedures and systems to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Manage, lead and motivate the finance team.
  • Prepare and analyse monthly financial statements, budget and forecast reports.
  • Prepare and maintain an accurate and up to date job costing system.
  • Manage cash flow and working capital.
  • Analyse and interpret financial information to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Maintain relationships with auditors and banks
  • Manage and ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and legal requirements.
  • Work closely with the Managing Director and other senior management to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Actively contribute to the leadership of the company

Competencies and Qualifications

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACMA, CPA, ACCA, ACA).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a commercial business environment.
  • Strong financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership Skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications.
