Role Overview:
The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the company's sales and growth within the B2B solar PV industry. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and strategically expanding the company's market presence. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the commercial solar PV industry, strong business acumen, and exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze the B2B solar PV market to identify potential clients, market trends, and competitive landscape.
- Identify and prioritize target industries, sectors, and regions for business growth.
- Proactively generate leads and identify potential clients through various channels, including networking, industry events, online platforms, and referrals.
- Qualify leads and assess their potential for business collaboration.
- Build and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within target companies.
- Understand clients' needs, challenges, and goals to tailor solutions that meet their specific requirements.
- Develop a deep understanding of the company's solar PV energy solutions and effectively communicate their value proposition to potential clients.
- Conduct consultations and presentations to showcase the benefits of adopting solar energy and how it aligns with clients' sustainability goals.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create tailored proposals and quotes that address clients' unique needs and requirements.
- Lead negotiations, address objections, and overcome obstacles to secure mutually beneficial agreements.
- Maintain an organized and accurate record of leads, opportunities, and interactions in the CRM system.
- Track and manage the sales pipeline, providing regular updates to the leadership team.
- Stay updated on industry developments, trends, and competitor activities, and share insights with the team.
- Provide feedback to internal teams to continuously improve products, services, and sales strategies.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
- Proven track record of success in B2B sales within the solar PV industry or related renewable energy sectors.
- Strong understanding of solar energy technology, market dynamics, and sustainability principles.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet sales targets.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings, industry events, and conferences as required. (Approx. 3/4 days on the road)
