Buyer Planner

Junior Buyer Planner- 3 month contract- Medical Device- Limerick!

The company is very open on level of experience, junior and more experienced candidates will be considered.

 

This job will suit a business or supply chain graduate that is looking for a move into the medical devices.

 

Third level degree is preferred but not essential!

 

This job will suit someone driven & ambitious that is looking for a career within the medical device industry!

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Purchasing activities for the raw materials required for various product families, to support the planned production levels, and ensure continuity of supply. For example; identifying requirements, generating purchase orders, expediting orders when necessary.
  • Develop an Internal Materials Planning process for various product families within Teleflex Limerick, and maintain it.
  • Develop inventory management and visual management systems to control the signals for re-supply between a) Stores and Production departments, b) between Production departments themselves, and c) for any build-to-stock items for end customers should that occur
  • Support the Engineering team in the Materials aspects of key Development projects. Minimise the amount and value of raw materials and internal assembly stocks being maintained to support the top-level end item codes, thereby reducing working capital requirements and reducing exposure to expiration and obsolescence.
  • Generate supplier performance data, and identify actions where required.
  • Maintain supplier files, liaising with suppliers on general queries.
  • Occasionally provide operational cover for certain Shipping or Stores activities, typically covering for absence or holidays, or during periods of very high demand.
  • Facilitate and co-ordinate the training for new Materials team members in areas of Purchasing and Planning whenever necessary

 

Requirements

 

  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate with others is vital.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office.
  • Good communication and inter-personal & collaboration skills.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to new responsibilities and challenges.
