Design Engineer – Shannon – Permanent!
Exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer looking for the next step in their career with a well-respected company in Shannon. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree with relevant experience and strong design software skills.
The role entails creating, designing, and laying out custom fixtures, interpreting calibration results, and troubleshooting calibration issues. Additionally, it involves creating technical procedures, inspecting and repairing fixtures, documenting repairs and modifications, and modifying existing tool designs. Other responsibilities include preparing and maintaining Bill of Materials, creating production drawings, addressing operator queries, suggesting cost reductions, and overseeing new parts/prototypes throughout the production process.

Role:
- Create, design and layout all custom fixtures i.e., weld, assembly, test and inspection fixtures.
- Interpret calibration results and troubleshoot any issues related to calibration.
- Create necessary technical procedures.
- Inspect and repair fixtures as necessary to ensure consistent quality of production parts.
- Document fixture repairs and modifications.
- Modify existing tool designs and document changes.
- Preparing and maintaining Bill of Materials.
- Creating production drawings for new parts & prototypes.
- Answer any technical queries operators may have.
- Cost reductions and methods to improve production.
- Follow new parts/prototypes from start to completion.
Education and Experience required:
- Candidates must have a degree in engineering.
- 1- 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering and design, familiarity with checking fixtures is an asset.
- Strong experience in Creo or Solid Works.
- Knowledge of FMEA.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers and managers.
