Health and Safety Manager

Job Title: Health & Safety Manager

Job Summary: We are looking for a Health & Safety Manager who will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations and policies related to contractors working on site.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site safety, quality, compliance, and environmental management and hold a relevant qualification in health and safety.
The successful candidate will have a strong personality, be proactive, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Requirements:

  • Oversee and ensure compliance with all health, safety, quality, and environmental policies and regulations related to contractors working on site.
  • Develop and implement safety programs, policies, procedures, and training to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure all safety measures are in place.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and develop corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences.
  • Manage the contractor pre-qualification process and ensure all contractors are appropriately trained and qualified for their roles.
  • Ensure all documentation related to safety, quality, and environmental management is maintained and up-to-date.
  • Provide regular reports to management on safety, quality, compliance, and environmental performance.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 – 4 years of experience in site safety, quality, compliance, and environmental management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong personality with the ability to lead and influence others.
  • Proactive and able to identify and address potential hazards and risks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
