Key Account Manager – Galway – Permanent
Why This Role Exists
As Key Account Manger this role will ensure our client is providing a market leading service to their key customers which is tailored to their needs. Adding value to their customers by pro-actively advising on up-to-date best practice, products and cost saving initiatives while maximizing the revenue and profitability associated with their key customers
Tasks And Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the relationship with key customers ensuring that service levels and customer satisfaction is maintained
- Identify key departmental decision makers and influencers and develop a trusted advisor relationship, developing and maintaining solid relationships with key customers
- Act as main point of contact between key customers and the company (to include internal teams, product specialists and supplier)
- Act as point of escalation for key customers, solving issues and trouble shooting
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Key Accounts business including current and projected demand patterns, strategic initiatives, and supplier expectations.
- Negotiation of long-term supply contracts with suppliers to ensure continuity of supply for the customer and revenue certainty for the company
- Take ownership of the sales budgets for key customers ensuring that we meet and exceed targets on an annual basis
- Develop bespoke plans for key customers and departments within key customers to ensure we are exceeding their expectations in service delivery
- Develop business plans and budgets for key customers and departments within key customers to maximize our revenue generation
- Leverage the knowledge of internal product specialists to assist with new business opportunities
- Ensure we are maintaining existing revenue streams and identify and pro-actively mitigate any risks
- Manage the Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) process for Key accounts and monitor customer stock levels through tools such as ISupply and daily/weekly reports.
- Ensure that all potential new business is identified, and act on these opportunities
- Organize regular meetings with key customers and ensure action points are completed in a timely manner
- Monitor and report on status, trends, and ongoing initiatives to the management team.
- Liaise with quality personnel within key customers to ensure all issues are resolved, and communication maintained on a timely basis to the satisfaction of the customer
- Build relationships with key suppliers to ensure that we can negotiate best possible terms for our key customers
Skills/Experience Required
- Experience in medical device industry an advantage
- Experience in working with customers who have FDA regulated products an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Sales focused with ability to identify opportunities
- Strong customer relationship management skills
- Exceptional commercial ability, capable of negotiating and executing on significant commercial deals
- Self-starter with demonstrated initiative, sense of urgency and commitment to execute
- Ability to multi-task, skill in establishing priorities and managing workloads, including ability to work effectively under stress and time pressures
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and colleagues
- Good planning, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Professional who is experienced and dependable with discretion, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to be flexible and to adapt and work effectively with a variety of situations or individuals
- Clean full driving license
- Experience using a CRM, ideally salesforce
