Program Manager (R&D Engineering)

Program Manager – Shannon – Permanent!

The successful candidate will manage and oversee multiple programs and projects, driving product design and development. They will develop detailed project plans, maintain effective communication with stakeholders, and lead a team. They will address risks and build relationships with external partners, collaborate with finance, and stay updated on industry trends. They will drive continuous improvement for optimal project outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee multiple programs and projects, both internally and externally, from initiation to completion.
  • Drive the product design and development process, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Identify and address project risks and issues, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Build and cultivate relationships with external partners, including funding agencies, granting bodies, and tax authorities, to secure financial support and incentives.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements relevant to medical device development.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program management processes and optimize project outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in program or project management, preferably in a medical device or R&D engineering environment.
  • Strong background in R&D, product design, and development, with a track record of successful product launches.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
  • Solid understanding of financial aspects related to project management, including funding, grants, tax incentives, and budget management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Knowledge of medical device regulations and quality management systems is a plus.
