Quality Engineer

Position: Quality Process Engineer Function: Quality Reporting to: Operations Manager Location: Shannon

The Position As a Quality Process Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in driving our Company Quality Management System and supporting manufacturing and quality teams. Maximize production quality performance by identifying root causes, implementing corrective/preventive actions, and driving improvements in quality systems, equipment, and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Review, update, and maintain quality management processes and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures in production processes.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and conduct data analysis.
  • Raise the quality profile and operating standards within the business.
  • Meet quality KPIs in a timely manner and resolve quality-related issues.
  • Strengthen customer relationships by driving the highest product quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to quality inspectors and production staff.
  • Manage the document control system for the plant.

Education & Qualifications A degree in engineering, material science, or a related technical discipline is required. Relevant experience in the field is essential.

Experience

  • Essential: Minimum 3 years' experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in implementing and maintaining quality systems to ISO9001 standards.
  • Proficient in problem-solving tools such as SPC, 8D, 5 whys, etc.
  • Experience in Metrology and measurement system validation techniques.

Desirable

  • Experience in equipment validation.

Personal Skills and Attributes

  • Strong ability to challenge when necessary and drive change.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements including ISO 9001 and AS9100 or ISO13485.
  • Understanding of quality tools like SPC, Guage R&R, FMEA, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Proven people and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • High level of PC skills required.
