Permanent Research and Development Engineer III

CREGG are seeking a Permanent Research & Development Engineer III to join Galway’s leading medical device manufacturer on a permanent basis

About the role
Monday-Friday role with a 1pm Friday finish. Flexitime offered as well as a competitive salary and full benefits package-healthcare, pension, on-site gym, income protection life assurance etc

Purpose 
Provides design support for the Endoscopy Product Metal Stent Portfolio, principally Axios Product, including but not limited to design updates related to compliance, product quality, supply chain remediation and manufacturing process support.  
Interfaces with local and global Design Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Process Development teams.  
Sustains and Develops products, materials, processes, for projects of moderate complexity.  

Key Responsibilities: 
 

  • Participates in and successfully contributes to project teams typically including the following activities: product design and development, material testing, preparation of specifications, process capability studies, research investigations, report preparation, and process/test documentation. 
  • Maintains design history related technical notes (notebooks, protocols, validations, qualifications, manufacturing documents, etc.). 
  • Owns and contributes to product or process improvement and problem-solving events.  
  • Owns and contributes to Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) Activities. 
  • Work, with minimal guidance, to plan and schedule own activities necessary to meet timelines. 
  • Summarizes, analyses, and draws conclusions from test results. 
  • Responsible for engineering documentation. 
  • Communicate changes in project milestones and writes project reports as required. 
  • Must be able to effectively work within a multidisciplinary and international organisation. 
  • Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality. 

 
Qualifications?? 

  • HETAC?Level 8?Degree in?a?relevant?Technical Discipline,?preferably?Biomedical Mechanical, Polymer, Materials or similar. 
  • 3+ years industry experience.? 
  • R&D/technical experience preferably in the health care industry.? 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.? 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.? 
  • Working knowledge of Endoscopic medical devices & procedures an advantage. 
  • SolidWorks and Minitab experience an advantage.
