Research and Development I/II

Job Purpose / Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with multiple functions in BSC Galway (Ireland) and BSC Maple Grove (United States).
- Work with your supervisor and project managers to translate project needs into R&D workstream plans.
- Coordinate test plans & objectives with team members, product builds with operations, and testing with laboratories.
- Undertake practical and statistical analysis of results, compile technical reports/regulatory submissions and present outcomes to the team.
- Perform troubleshooting on product/process problems as related to design, materials or process.
- Support value improvement projects, new product development, and sustaining engineering projects.
- Interface with vendors and physicians where projects require.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum HETAC Level 8 Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering.
- Strong R&D/technical experience preferably in the health care industry, minimum 12 months.
- Proven ability to work within a regulated industry environment and with a track record of accomplishments.
- Preference for combination product and/or pharmaceutical experience, but not required.
- Experience with post-commercial product support is an advantage.
- Self-starter with the ability to learn new tasks/processes and work independently to plan, schedule, communicate and execute activities necessary to meet project timelines to schedule.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Excellent analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.
