Senior Group Lead (Evening) – Galway – Permanent!

This role involves leading production areas, maintaining a positive team atmosphere, supervising a team of Group Leaders and Production Operators, ensuring appropriate staffing and cost management, participating in hiring processes, meeting quality and GMP requirements, addressing issues promptly, implementing cross-training and job rotation, promoting continuous improvement, maintaining 5S and good housekeeping practices, and collaborating with other departments to meet customer requirements and communicate any potential shipment delays or impacts.

Role:

• Lead and foster a positive team environment in the assigned production areas.
• Oversee and provide guidance to a team consisting of up to 4 Group Leaders and approximately 60 Production Operators.
• Ensure staffing aligns with capacity planning and manage labour costs within budget. Contribute to the interviewing and selection process for both new and existing employees.
• Uphold quality and GMP standards, ensuring adherence to procedures and prompt resolution of issues.
• Implement effective cross training and job rotation initiatives for Production Operators.
• Encourage continuous improvement ideas from team members and ensure compliance with 5S and good housekeeping practices.
• Collaborate closely with other departmental leaders to ensure timely scheduling of R&D projects and new product introductions that meet customer requirements. Keep Customer Operations informed of any potential delays or impacts to shipments.

Education and Experience required:

• Prior experience in a Group Leader or similar position is essential.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities are necessary.
• Demonstrate self-direction and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Possess effective communication skills to interact with all departments and levels within the organization.
• Capable of leading cross-functional meetings and teams.
• Maintain a can-do attitude, prioritizing the fulfilment of internal and external customer needs.
• Display analytical skills to assess and question current systems and processes, while offering practical improvement suggestions.
