In your new role of Senior Industrial Engineer, you will lead a team of Industrial Engineers and identify and pursue value improvement and waste elimination to support manufacturing areas by initiating and completing Lean projects in line with business goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, coach, develop and provide work direction to the team members of the Industrial Engineering team.
  • Lead the Industrial Engineering team to champion and support the ongoing introduction and advancement of lean manufacturing culture, principles and practices across the plant.
  • Establish standard times through work measurement. Prepare and present Engineering Standard data in line with corporate guidelines and work with production staff to identify improvement projects.
  • Promote, educate and instill the culture of waste identification and elimination throughout the plant. Identify and eliminate production related bottlenecks.
  • Create, maintain and refine a Lean toolkit that can include: 5S, pull & flow, value stream mapping, Kaizen and line balancing.
  • Develop and conduct Lean training programs for employees at all levels and departments. A key responsibility will be developing a training system to ensure that Lean Essentials is embedded into the culture.
  • Preparation of floor layouts for manufacturing processes and support areas. All layouts to be designed in consultation with the relevant stakeholders i.e. Production, Engineering, Quality, Facilities, etc. with emphasis on optimal utilisation of floor space and a site wide consistent approach toward the introduction of manufacturing cells and continuous flow production in a Lean Manufacturing environment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • HETAC Level 8 degree (240 credits) in a relevant discipline (STEM)
  • Minimum five years' experience in a similar role.
  • Leadership skills, communication, relationship building and developing people.
  • Good technical capabilities, teamwork abilities and initiative.
  • Operational excellence and lean thinking.
  • Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements).
