Senior NPI Engineer
Position: Senior NPI Engineer
Location: Galway
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a dedicated group of Engineers and Technicians within the New Product Introduction (NPI) Group.
- Coach and mentor team members during the introduction of large-scale projects.
- Oversee and manage New Part Introduction in collaboration with the Manufacturing Group.
- Support the introduction of ISO56000, the Innovation Management Standard.
- Execute projects initiated within the organization.
- Drive the design and development of new products through the customers' design process.
- Conduct prototyping, testing, and initial engineering builds.
- Perform design verification, validation, and risk assessment as per industry standards.
- Identify and implement new technologies to support robust products and processes.
- Develop test methods and process improvements using statistical tools.
- Ensure clearly defined processes are documented in standard work instructions.
- Lead process verification and validation for the release of products.
- Promote a methodical and systematic problem-solving approach.
- Project management and execution of assigned projects from concept to commercialization.
- Scope and define new technology user requirements for project implementation.
Qualifications:
- Highly effective and articulate communication skills with the ability to convey and link with people at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Cross-functional collaboration and interaction with different functions within the organization.
- Demonstrates high performance behavior and creates an environment of engagement within the NPI team.
- Proficient in project management methodologies and tools, such as PMBOK and Agile PM methods.
- Experience leading problem-solving and process improvement projects using Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proven experience in product and process validation.
- NFQ Level 8 or higher in a Technical Discipline (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or Bio-Medical) preferred, with 5+ years of Medical Device Experience.
- Project Management and/or Six Sigma Qualification highly desirable.
- Process experience in Grinding, Molding, EDM, and/or Laser processes is a distinct advantage.
