Financial Controller
Financial Controller – Co. Galway – Manufacturing
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership on Finance and Accounting strategy to optimize the company's financial performance and strategic position.
- Take overall control of the company's accounting function.
- Ensure robust and compliant financial systems that support current activities and future growth.
- Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Work with the senior team to formulate growth strategies and plans.
- Ensure effective budgeting processes are carried out and reviewed.
- Take ultimate responsibility for the company's cash management policies and identify opportunities to enhance cash flow.
- Implement strategies to optimise cash management.
- Manage Foreign Exchange transactions and review Investments and Insurance policies periodically.
- Present weekly dashboards, monthly, and annual accounts to the executive team.
- Ensure regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met.
- Manage company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity, disposals, and acquisitions.
- Oversee invoicing, debtors, payroll, and execution of wage management,
- Lead the migration of accounts package to a new MRP integrated package.
- Manage 6-monthly reviews with suppliers on pricing and terms.
- Oversee stock inventory and agreements with the factory on a monthly basis.
- Work with auditors on yearly accounts and final sign-off.
Requirements:
- Qualified professional accountant with a Big 4 training background or equivalent with Recognised Accounting Qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA etc).
- Minimum of 5 years of post-qualified experience
- Industry experience in a large multinational or mid-sized SME an advantage.
- Experience implementing or managing MRP systems desirable.
- Experience with Manufacturing Management accounts preferable.
