Financial Accountant – Oranmore, Galway
Our client, a leading company in their respective field now have a requirement for a talented & ambitious Financial Accountant to join their growing team based in their Galway HQ office on a Full-time permanent basis.

Location: Oranmore, Galway – Onsite role.
Duration: Full-time Permanent

The Role: To assist the Financial Controller with the accounting function. The Financial Accountant is to provide a service in order to ensure all company accounting policies and procedures are met.

The key duties of this role will include:

  • Manage the team of staff within the accounting function.
  • Reconciliation of all bank accounts.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for Group companies and preparation of annual accounts to trial balance level.
  • Monitor, control and report on Retail shops cash function.
  • Maintain and improve the internal controls within the accounting function.
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns and WEEE returns.
  • Preparation for year-end statutory audits i.e. Journals, Accruals, Asset Ledger, Reconciliations, etc.
  • Payment approval of all staff business expenses submitted.
  • Administration of company motor fleet insurance, accident reports, claims, etc.
  • Ad hoc duties as required.

Key Criteria:

  • ACCA/CIMA qualification essential.
  • You will ideally have at least 2-3 years’ post qualified experience working in industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in people management desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, Excel and other related software.
  • Excellent communication skills, initiative and customer focus.
  • Ambitious and multi-tasker.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as ability to work on own initiative.
