Sales & Operations Associate – Tralee, Co. Kerry
Our client is Ireland’s largest independent builders’ providers, providing a wide range of top-quality building materials and DIY & home improvement supplies to the general public and trade. With a nationwide network of branches, they offer a one stop shop with a wide range of products catering for professional tradespeople, DIY enthusiasts and Homeowners.

The Role: They are now seeking a Sales and Operations Associate to join their growing team based at their branch located in Tralee, Co. Kerry. This “hands-on” role will involve getting experience in all aspects of a typical busy builders merchanting branch.
Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the main requirements of the role will be as follows:

  • Serving customers in the shop and answering the phones as and when required.
  • Building strong working relationships with customers in order to understand their requirements.
  • Maintaining a well merchandised Store / Shop area.
  • Updating the point-of-sale pricing and product promotion campaigns.
  • Assisting with cycle counting and stock taking.
  • Liaising with the Warehouse and Yard staff to help fulfil incoming orders.
  • Dealing with other requests to support the busy operation as and when required.
  • Following company policies and procedures from an operational and health and safety perspective.
  • The successful candidate will also get experience using modern IT and ERP systems and will receive training from experienced local branch personnel as well as group management and personnel.

Knowledge & Experience Required:

  • A good knowledge of DIY products and building materials.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive can-do attitude.
  • Be computer literate.
  • At least 3-4 years’ experience working in retail is desirable.
  • A trade qualification and good understanding of the construction & building materials sector would be an advantage.
  • Forklift license would be a distinct advantage.
