Manufacturing Team Lead

The company a progressive made to order manufacturing business based in Galway, producing made-to-order work surfaces for domestic and export markets. As they gear up for the next phase of growth, they are looking for a strong communicator and people leader to guide one of their key value streams.
This role is about leading from the front—motivating a team of 10 production operatives in a fast-moving, high-variation manufacturing environment. It’s not about mass production; it’s about structure, flexibility, and a people-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, motivate, and support a production team to deliver daily targets.
• Communicate clearly through daily briefings and regular team updates.
• Coach team members to stay engaged and productive, even during changeovers or downtime.
• Monitor performance and address issues promptly and fairly.
• Work cross-functionally with planning and maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and positive team engagement.
• Lead by example—hands-on when needed, always approachable.

Experience:

• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or high-mix production setting.
• Strong communication skills—you’re clear, calm, and confident.
• Ability to get the best out of people and handle tough conversations with fairness.
• A structured, proactive approach to scheduling, process flow, and performance management.
• Comfortable using standard PC tools (Word, Excel); mechanically minded a plus.
• Reliable, honest, and ready to grow with a company on the move.
