Lead Manufacturing Engineer – Cork
About the Role:
CREGG are seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to join in a global leader and thriving medical device company based in Co. Cork. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced engineer to take a hands-on leadership role within our manufacturing operations. You'll lead a team of 3 technicians and play a key part in driving production efficiency, supporting automation initiatives, and maintaining high standards in equipment performance.

Shift – Swing Shift – 4 days on 3 off – 3 on 4 off – 12hr – 6pm – 6am
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of 3 manufacturing technicians.
- Support and oversee daily operations across manufacturing and automated production lines.
- Conduct and manage equipment process validations to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for production equipment and drive effective problem-solving initiatives.
- Plan and execute maintenance strategies to maximise equipment uptime and reliability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, R&D, and Operations teams reporting any issues to senior management.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
Qualifications & Experience:
- Level 8 Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience leading or mentoring a small small/large manufacturing team – leadership skills.
- Knowledge of equipment process validation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem solving ability and strong communication skills.
- Experience in a GMP regulated industry, ideally medical devices or pharmaceuticals.
