Field Sales Representative – Midlands

Our client is Ireland's largest independent builders' providers, providing a wide range of top-quality building materials and DIY & home improvement supplies to the general public and trade. With a nationwide network of branches, they offer a one stop shop with a wide range of products catering for professional tradespeople, DIY enthusiasts and Homeowners.

Location: Midlands (covering Portarlington and Longford branches)
It will be field based, with a few hours a week in the office to collaborate with the Branch.
Reports To: Regional Sales & Operations Manager

Role Summary:
Our client is seeking a Midlands based, commercially savvy and relationship driven Business Development Representative to help them accelerate growth at two of their Midlands branches, a busy area with significant untapped potential.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building trusted partnerships in the construction sector and thrives on turning opportunity into results.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Drive strategic growth – Develop and implement focused sales plans to increase revenue and expand market share in a competitive local market.
  • Win new business – Identify and pursue new commercial opportunities with builders, contractors, developers, and construction firms across Dublin and surrounding areas.
  • Deepen key relationships – Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring client satisfaction, retention, and increased spend.
  • Be visible and connected – Attend client meetings, construction site visits, and industry events to build relationships and grow our network.
  • Understand your market – Stay informed on local trends, competitor activity, and emerging customer needs. Use your insights to inform sales strategy.
  • Deliver customer solutions – Understand our full product range and help clients find the right solutions for their projects.
  • Collaborate for success – Work closely with internal sales, marketing, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.

Knowledge & Experience Required:

  • 3–5+ years of business development or sales experience, ideally within the construction, trade, or building materials sector.
  • A track record of delivering results and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of the construction sector and sales cycles.
  • Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach — someone who spots opportunities and takes initiative.
  • Excellent time management, with the ability to balance client meetings, reporting, and internal collaboration.
