Great opportunity for a proactive, floor-focused Production Manager with a passion for driving performance, leading teams, and making real operational improvements.

This job will suit someone who thrives in a labour-intensive, fast-moving manufacturing environment, someone who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves, make quick decisions, and keep production running at its best.

This person will manage a team of 20+ in a heavy industrial setting, reporting to and supporting the Plant Manager.

This is a great job for someone looking for a role they can make their own and can add value, lead change, and bring fresh ideas to the table.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership of production teams (20+)
  • Experience in fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing (heavy industry a plus)
  • Strong background in process improvement, Lean/Six Sigma, and KPIs
  • A practical, no-nonsense approach and the confidence to take ownership.

Qualifications required.

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience managing teams of 20+ staff.
  • Demonstrable success in delivering process improvements, KPIs, and complex projects.
  • Strong experience with process mapping, Lean / Six Sigma, and performance measurement tools.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; able to motivate teams and manage performance fairly and effectively.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with strong initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Clear understanding of how operational activities align with business strategy.
  • Confident managing change, communicating vision, and bringing people along the journey.
  • Resilient and calm under pressure, able to balance priorities and deliver against tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a high standard for output quality, consistency, and safety.
  • Technically competent
