Business Development Manager

Business Development Manager 
CREGG are seeking a highly organised and results driven Business Development Manager to join our client, with a headquarters in Galway, in this standalone role. This is a full-time position, permanent position. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, driving growth and maximise cross selling opportunities across all divisions of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify new business opportunities to drive sales growth.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads through research, networking, and strategic outreach.
  • Work closely with the Department Director and Marketing team to develop and execute strategies to meet revenue targets.
  • Use CRM tools to track activity, manage the sales funnel, and report performance metrics.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring terms and pricing are comprehensive and competitive while aligning with company objectives.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and professional events.
  • Act as main commercial contact for clients.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as customer support and operations, to ensure client needs are met and the successful delivery of services.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or science or relevant experience.
  • Over 5 years’ experience in a business development role.
  • Previous experience in life sciences or environmental industries will be highly regarded.
  • Experience with public procurement and tender writing would be advantageous.
  • Commercially driven with a proven ability to meet and exceed sales and revenue targets.
  • Client-focused with a deep understanding of customer needs.
  • Strong understanding of business operations, laboratory procedures and industry regulations
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
