Machine Operator
CREGG are working with our client in seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator – CNC Operator to join their manufacturing team.
In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines as a Machine Operator to produce precision special cutting tools such as end mills, drills, reamers, and custom tooling components. Ideal candidates will have prior experience with tool grinding and a solid understanding of machining operations and blueprint reading.
Shift: Evenings 4-12, Mon-Thurs, 12-7 Friday.

Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machines as a Machine operator (e.g., ANCA, Walter, Rollomatic, etc.) to produce precision cutting tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders to determine machine setup and production specifications.
- Monitor machining operations and inspect finished tools using micrometers, calipers, comparators, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and tooling.
- Ensure quality standards are met through frequent part inspections and process checks.
- Adjust machine settings to optimize efficiency and minimize tool wear or production errors.
- Record production information and maintain accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot issues and implement process improvements.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Level 6 or Trade qualified; technical/vocational training preferred.
- 1 -3 years of experience operating CNC machines in a tooling or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with tool grinding or carbide cutting tools highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.
- Familiarity with G-code programming and CNC controls a plus.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
