Head of Operations – Energy Solutions Industry
We are delighted to partner exclusively with our client who are a growing company in the energy solutions industry and who are now seeking a dynamic Head of Operations to lead their team. This role requires a strong leader with a creative approach to business, capable of driving efficiency, productivity, and innovation within their high-performing management team. The ideal candidate will bring significant leadership experience in the energy sector or a related field, possess a practical mindset, and demonstrate a strong ability to solve problems and streamline processes, particularly in manufacturing and operational programming.

Location: Ennis, Co. Clare – Full-time Permanent
This role will be ideally suited to someone who is residing in the Clare, Limerick or Galway region and within commutable distance to our clients offices.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee company operations and employee productivity, fostering a highly inclusive culture that promotes team member growth and aligns with organizational goals.
  • Lead recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention efforts to build a strong and capable team.
  • Ensure adherence to national and local business regulations, taking necessary actions to maintain compliance.
  • Manage the overall Sales function within the business.
  • Analyze internal operations to identify and implement process enhancements, driving continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Develop and execute business strategies that align with both short- and long-term company objectives, ensuring sustainable growth.
  • Manage operations, HR, accounting, and project management teams, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Regularly monitor performance metrics, implement corrective actions when necessary, and provide detailed updates and forecasts to stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring trust and long-term collaboration.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of ten years in executive leadership roles, preferably within the energy solutions or related industry.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to approach business challenges creatively and practically.
  • In-depth understanding of business planning, regulatory issues, and industry-specific challenges.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a hands-on approach to overcoming obstacles.
  • Ability to delegate effectively while ensuring managers are accountable and supported in their decision-making.
  • Experience in organizing and coordinating projects to meet production deadlines.
  • A third-level qualification is preferred, with a focus on practicality over formality.
  • Prior experience as a Head of Operations or COO with knowledge of construction, manufacturing, and technical drawings.
  • Comfortable with modern communication tools such as Teams and Zoom, and proficient with computer systems.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational skills.
  • Experience in liaising with subcontractors and other external stakeholders.
  • Confident in making decisions, communicating effectively with the team, and taking responsibility for outcomes.
  • Committed to assisting managers in their decision-making processes, fostering professionalism, and promoting steady growth without an aggressive approach.
