Facilities Engineer

CREGG is currently seeking a Facilities Engineer for our client based in Kingscourt, Co. Cavan

Our client is a global leader in sustainable building solutions and high-performance materials. They provide innovative, energy-efficient products across sectors like construction, healthcare, and industrial manufacturing, with a strong focus on sustainability.

Role Overview: As a Facilities Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and executing all plant-based structural and civil engineering projects at our clients facility.

Key responsibilities will include (but aren’t limited) to the following; 

  1. Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all buildings and groundworks inc. property and land management of the Saint Gobain estate – boundaries, remote company locations and point of contact for 3rd parties.

  2. Project lead facility projects (driven by site risk responsibilities) by undertaking technical and feasibility studies and site inspections of utilities and current and new projects.

  3. Contractor management; Co-ordinate with external contractors and service providers for facility maintenance, repairs, and projects. Negotiate contracts and manage service agreements and relationships to optimise quality, delivery and cost savings. Contractor RAMS (Risk Assessment & Method Statement) and contractor insurance.

  4. Review and confirm compliance with building regulations, fire compliance & ATEX compliance on all facility related project activity on site at the end of each project.

  5. Oversight of facilities/utilities preventative maintenance program.

  6. Ensuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements.

Requirements:

  • Civil/Structural Engineering level 8 qualification.
  • 4-5 years experience in a similar Facilities Engineering role.
  • Working knowledge of principles and practices of business administration, procurement, and contracts.
  • Demonstrable health, safety, and environmental knowledge and best practices in a manufacturing setting, with the ability to enforce these practices rigorously.
  • Experience in Industrial maintenance and engineering and all facets of large-scale industrial operations .
  • Demonstrable negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, safety, and environmental departments.
  • Strong mathematical and IT skills
  • Experience working successfully as a team player.
