Industrial Engineer I
CREGG are hiring for an Industrial Engineer I to join a leading Medical device and Pharmaceutical company in Cork. Exciting role for a graduate or professional with up to 2 years’ experience in a similar field.
About the job:
Purpose: Apply Lean Manufacturing tools and DMAIC methodologies to improve processes, reduce waste, and solve manufacturing problems.
Shift: 39 hour week and early finish on Fridays

Responsibilities:
- Work within the Operational Excellence team, in conjunction with production areas and support teams, to drive continuous improvement (CI) initiatives such as Process Improvement, Line Optimization, Variation Tracking, 5S, CI, Standard Work, and other Lean programs.
- Measure, set and analyse the Work Content of the manufacturing process (time studies and Work Content Graph)
- Support Production Supervisor on Capacity Modelling and Planning.
- Enhance and Improve the Lean culture onsite.
- Lead and facilitate Line Optimisation Initiatives
- Develop creative and innovative solutions to diverse business problems.
- Work closely with R&D and Process Development to help launch new products and processes.
- Provide regular sitewide communication of Operational Excellence metrics.
- Collaborate with senior industrial engineers, production, New Product Introduction, and support functions on Layout design, drawing, and governance.
- Act as a change agent in driving innovation and re-engineering new and existing processes.
- Collaborate with senior industrial engineers, production, and Manufacturing Engineers on the setting, validation and sustaining of the engineering standard time.
Qualifications for this role are:
- Level 8 in equivalent education.
- AutoCad/Draftsight experience an advantage
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent
- Proven experience in Continuous Improvement and expertise in Lean tools within an operational environment.
- Experience in Change Management and/or Project Management a distinct advantage
- Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes cGMP, industry regulations, process development and new product introduction.
