Manufacturing Engineer

Our client are looking for a manufacturing engineer to join their team. The company is a global provider of electronic manufacturing services specialising in high-reliability, high-cost-of-failure environments. With over 30 years’ experience, they support SMEs, multinationals and start-ups in bringing complex technologies from concept to full production. Key sectors include Medical Devices, Automotive, Aviation, IoT and ICT. The successful candidate will bring strong Production / Manufacturing Engineering experience and play a key role in the introduction and optimisation of electronic manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept to production, ensuring delivery to budget and schedule.
  • Manage manufacturing improvement and digitalisation projects using Lean and project management methodologies.
  • Develop and implement robust manufacturing processes focused on quality, cost and delivery.
  • Support product quotations, production planning and manufacturing readiness.
  • Work closely with customers to transition products from design to manufacturing, ensuring compliance with ISO 13485 where applicable.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for new and existing products.
  • Maintain product documentation including BOMs, drawings and work instructions.
  • Train operators on new equipment and processes.
  • Support equipment maintenance, production layout improvements and process optimisation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors and third-party manufacturers.

Education and Experience:

  • Level 7/8 degree in Electronics, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or electronics production environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma tools and project management.
  • Experience with ERP systems, MS Office and engineering documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and customer requirements in a fast-paced environment.
