Automation Engineer

CREGG is currently looking for Automation Engineers with PLC programming experience for a client based in Dublin on a permanent basis.
This is a great opportunity to join a very well respected SI and work on projects across Ireland. A valid driving licence and work permit for Ireland are required for this position.
Responsibilities for this position include:

• Development of PLC and SCADA applications.
• Develop project design documents including functional specifications.
• Programming, implementation and documentation of upgrades to existing installations.
• Support the training and ongoing development of the project team in automation / programming skills.
• Regular reporting of project progress to the project manager.
• Lead the commissioning of automation installations.
• Testing of control panels and automation systems including FAT and SAT.

Essential Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical Engineering, Automation or Instrumentation or equivalent and have a demonstrated track record in controls/PLC programming

• Knowledge of industrial networks (Ethernet, Ethernet I/P, Profibus, Profinet, ASi etc).
• Strong communication skills both verbally and written.
• Strong problem solving and logical thinking skills.
• English fluency.
• Flexibility to travel throughout Ireland and abroad for project commissioning.
• A Valid Full clean driving.
