The primary focus of this role is to ensure the highest levels of quality, compliance, and service from our suppliers, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the supply base. The position requires some travel to support and collaborate with suppliers effectively.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical team member, collaborating with Purchasing, Supplier Quality, and Business Units to drive supplier management initiatives.
- Apply technical expertise in commodity management to ensure supplier performance aligns with company objectives.
- Support team goals related to quality, cost, and service.
- Drive continuous improvement in supplier quality systems, service capabilities, and total cost of ownership.
- Investigate material quality issues, working cross-functionally with Quality, Procurement, and Business Units to resolve and disposition product.
- Promote and enforce the Quality System within the supply base.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Supplier Quality Engineering, Receiving Inspection, and Business Units to ensure components meet all required standards.
- Ensure supplier corrective actions are effectively identified, implemented, and controlled.
- Provide guidance on Supplier Management system requirements to internal teams.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of Supplier Management policies and procedures.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with the Procurement team to develop new supply sources.
- Assess and approve supplier-requested process changes to ensure compliance and quality standards.
- Identify, support, and lead Material Value Improvement Projects (VIPs) across the supply chain.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (Level 8) in Engineering/Technology
- Experience in the medical device industry is advantageous
- Familiarity with automated or high-volume production lines is a plus
