Fitters Mate/Van Assistant

CREGG Recruitment are looking for a Fitters Mate/Van Assistant, for full time/long term work in Ballincollig, Co. Cork.

Our client is a manufacturing/fitting company, looking to grow their business.

Key Responsibilities – Fitters Mate/Van Assistant:

• Loading & Unloading: Securely load and unload goods, using hand trucks or pallet jacks, ensuring items are undamaged.
• Customer Service: Greet customers, collect payments, obtain signatures, and professionally resolve issues.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-trip checks (lights, tires, fluids) and keep the van clean and tidy.
• Logistics: Assist the driver with navigation, route changes, and accurate delivery record-keeping.
• Safety: Adhere to all health, safety, and manual handling guidelines, reporting incidents immediately.

Hours of work:

• Mon – Fri, 08:00 – 16:30

Please note, longer hours and/or some Saturday work may be needed – payable at time and a half rate.

Salary:

• €16 per hour

Requirements – Fitters Mate/Van Assistant:

• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry heavy items.
• Attention to Detail: For accurate deliveries and paperwork.
• Teamwork: Work effectively with the driver.
• Time Management: Punctuality and efficiency are crucial.
• Manual Handling Certification:  Required
• Safe Pass: Required 

Contract Type:

• Full time (39 hours per week)
• Long term/Permanent

Immediate start preferred, or up to 2 weeks' notice.
