Business Development Manager

CREGG are seeking a highly organised and results driven Business Development Manager to join a leading company in their respective field, who have their headquarters based in Galway. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, driving growth and maximise cross selling opportunities across all divisions of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify new business opportunities to drive sales growth.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads through research, networking, and strategic outreach.
  • Work closely with the Department Director and Marketing team to develop and execute strategies to meet revenue targets.
  • Use CRM tools to track activity, manage the sales funnel, and report performance metrics.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring terms and pricing are comprehensive and competitive while aligning with company objectives.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and professional events.
  • Act as main commercial contact for clients.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as customer support and operations, to ensure client needs are met and the successful delivery of services.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or science or relevant experience.
  • Over 5 years’ experience in a business development role.
  • Previous experience in life sciences or environmental industries will be highly regarded.
  • Experience with public procurement and tender writing would be advantageous.
  • Commercially driven with a proven ability to meet and exceed sales and revenue targets.
  • Client-focused with a deep understanding of customer needs.
  • Strong understanding of business operations, laboratory procedures and industry regulations is desirable.
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
