About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Automation Engineer to join a major System Integrator on a long-term secondment based onsite with a leading client in Kildare. This role offers strong professional development and progression opportunities within a respected and growing automation team.
You will be responsible for supporting, developing, and optimizing automation systems within a highly automated manufacturing or process environment, with a focus on Allen?Bradley control platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite support for control and automation systems, ensuring maximum equipment uptime.
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot Allen?Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
- Participate in system upgrades, integration projects, and commissioning activities.
- Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and project teams to deliver reliable solutions.
- Maintain control system documentation and ensure compliance with site and safety standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
Requirements
- 2–3 years’ experience as an Automation or Controls Engineer in a manufacturing or process environment.
- Proven hands-on experience with Allen?Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix), FactoryTalk View or related systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills within automation environments.
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechatronic, or Automation Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Eligible to work full-time in Ireland and available for on-site work in Kildare.
- A Valid Irish/EU work permit
