Production Operative

CREGG are looking for a Machine Operative for full time, long term work in Oranmore, Co. Galway.

Our client is a metal manufacturing company, looking to add a full time staff member to their production team.

We are looking for a person who is mechanical minded, with passion for working with machines and is good at problem solving.

Job description – Machine Operative:

• Machine Operation: Operate and set up workshop tools such as press brakes, guillotines, plasma cutters, and saws.
• Production Work: Fabricate and assemble steel components according to technical drawings.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished components for accuracy, ensuring measurements meet specifications, and that products are free of defects.
• Maintenance & Safety: Perform daily maintenance on machinery, troubleshoot minor faults, and adhere strictly to health and safety regulations.
• Material Handling: Load and unload raw materials and finished products using overhead cranes or hoists.
• Documentation: Complete production logs and quality reports, often using computer systems.

Hours of work:

• 43 hours per week
• Monday to Friday
• 07:00 – 17:00 (early finish on Friday)

Rate of Pay:

• €16.63 per hour

Job requirements:

• Previous experience working in engineering/mechanical industry (min 1 year).
• Good knowledge of machines, tools, etc.
• Excellent attention to details and good problem-solving skills.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity.

Contract type:

• Full time (6 month probation)
• Permanent/Long term

We are looking for candidates who are flexible to start within 2 weeks' notice.

Please note Machine Operative role is a full time, long term position that will lead to permanent employment for the right candidate.
