Machine Operative
CREGG are looking for a Machine Operatives for full time, long term work in Oranmore, Co. Galway.
Our client is a metal manufacturing company, looking to add a full time staff member to their production team.
We are looking for candidates who are mechanical minded, with passion for working with machines and good at problem solving.
Job description – Machine Operative:
- Machine Operation: Operate and set up workshop tools such as press brakes, guillotines, plasma cutters, and saws.
- Production Work: Fabricate and assemble steel components according to technical drawings.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished components for accuracy, ensuring measurements meet specifications, and that products are free of defects.
- Maintenance & Safety: Perform daily maintenance on machinery, troubleshoot minor faults, and adhere strictly to health and safety regulations.
- Material Handling: Load and unload raw materials and finished products using overhead cranes or hoists.
- Documentation: Complete production logs and quality reports, often using computer systems.
Hours of work:
- 43 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- 07:00 – 17:00 (early finish on Friday)
Rate of Pay:
- €16.63 per hour
Job requirements:
- Previous experience working in engineering/mechanical industry (min 1 year).
- Good knowledge of machines, tools, etc.
- Excellent attention to details and good problem-solving skills.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
Contract type:
- Full time (6 month probation)
- Permanent/Long term
We are looking for candidates who are flexible to start within 2 weeks' notice.
Please note Machine Operative role is a full time, long term position that will lead to permanent employment for the right candidates.
