Yard Operative / Delivery Driver

Our client based in Limerick is seeking a motivated and reliable Yard Operative / Delivery Driver to join their busy branch team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring excellent customer service through the safe handling, storage, and delivery of building materials and products. This position requires a hands-on individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with colleagues across the branch.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver products and building materials to local customers using the branch pick-up truck.
• Safely offload products and materials at customer sites.
• Pick customer orders accurately and assist with loading customer vehicles.
• Load delivery vehicles in advance of scheduled deliveries.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the warehouse, yard, and shop areas.
• Work closely with branch colleagues, including transport and internal sales teams, to ensure efficient and timely customer service.
• Support stock management activities, including stock takes and cycle counts.
• Assist with general operational duties as required to support the smooth running of the branch.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, particularly those relating to health, safety, and operational standards.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• Full clean driving licence.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive, flexible, and proactive attitude.
• Computer literacy and basic IT skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable

• Knowledge of building materials and construction products.
• Experience working in a warehouse, yard, or similar environment.
• Forklift driving experience and/or relevant certification.
