Forklift Operator
CREGG Recruitment are looking for a full time Forklift Operative for Permanent work in Shannon, Co. Clare, 20 min drive from Ennis.
Our client is a freight forwarding company, looking to grow the business and is expending the team.
Please note we are looking for an individual who is trained in warehousing industry (min 2 years).
Responsibilities:
- Safely load and unload freight vehicles using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck
- (FLT).
- Receive and process goods inwards.
- Efficiently store stock in designated warehouse locations using a Reach FLT (with racks up to 7 meters high).
- Accurately pick and pack orders from stock, following the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
- Prepare orders for dispatch, including pallet building.
- Input transport bookings into the freight system for tracking and management.
- Coordinate with domestic transport companies to arrange timely collection and
- delivery.
- Communicate effectively with external customers, suppliers, and contractors.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including operations, finance, and
- management, to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
- Participate in regular stock-taking and cycle counting procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment through consistent housekeeping duties.
Starting salary:
- €28'000 – €30,000 per year – Depending on Experience
Hours of Work:
- Monday – Friday
- 09:00 – 17:30
- Overtime on Friday or when required, the odd Saturday cover.
Job requirements:
- Previous warehouse/stockroom experience (min 2 year)
- Manual Handling certificate – Preferred
- Power Pallet Truck licence – Preferred
- Forklift Licence – Reach and Counterbalance – Preferred
Desired Skills:
- Experience with freight IT systems.
- Full, clean driving license.
- Dangerous Goods Awareness Training (desirable).
Contract type:
- Full time (39 hours a week)
- Permanent contract, subject to a six-month probation period.
Immediate start required, if possible.
