Role Overview

Our client, an established accountancy practice in Co. Carlow, is seeking an experienced Practice Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.

The role can be structured on either a full-time or part-time basis and offers flexibility around working arrangements.

This is a broad practice role covering accounts preparation, taxation, audit, bookkeeping and payroll, with regular client interaction and the opportunity to work closely with the firm’s partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies through to partner review stage.
  • Prepare audited financial statements and supporting audit files.
  • Prepare and submit relevant tax returns.
  • Prepare statutory returns and associated compliance documentation.
  • Assist with client audits.
  • Complete bookkeeping duties as required.
  • Carry out payroll calculations and related processing.
  • Liaise directly with clients regarding accounts, tax and general practice matters.
  • Support partners with special assignments and individual client projects.
  • Manage workload effectively to meet client and statutory deadlines.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within an accountancy practice.
  • Good working knowledge of accounts preparation and accounts production.
  • Experience with taxation and tax return preparation.
  • Knowledge of audit procedures and preparation of audit files.
  • Experience preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and companies.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently while also contributing as part of a busy practice team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident dealing directly with clients.
  • Good general IT and accounting systems skills.
