Role Overview
Our client, an established accountancy practice in Co. Carlow, is seeking an experienced Practice Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.
The role can be structured on either a full-time or part-time basis and offers flexibility around working arrangements.
This is a broad practice role covering accounts preparation, taxation, audit, bookkeeping and payroll, with regular client interaction and the opportunity to work closely with the firm’s partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies through to partner review stage.
- Prepare audited financial statements and supporting audit files.
- Prepare and submit relevant tax returns.
- Prepare statutory returns and associated compliance documentation.
- Assist with client audits.
- Complete bookkeeping duties as required.
- Carry out payroll calculations and related processing.
- Liaise directly with clients regarding accounts, tax and general practice matters.
- Support partners with special assignments and individual client projects.
- Manage workload effectively to meet client and statutory deadlines.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within an accountancy practice.
- Good working knowledge of accounts preparation and accounts production.
- Experience with taxation and tax return preparation.
- Knowledge of audit procedures and preparation of audit files.
- Experience preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and companies.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently while also contributing as part of a busy practice team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident dealing directly with clients.
- Good general IT and accounting systems skills.
