Trade Counter Sales Associate

CREGG are currently recruiting for a Trade Counter Sales Associate to join our team in our clients busy hardware store based in Athlone.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you’ll be dealing with tradespeople, DIY customers and members of the public, helping them find the right products and providing excellent service. The role will be onsite so there will be a requirement to have the ability to commute to the Hardware store in Athlone, County Westmeath.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Serving customers at the trade counter and over the phone
•  Taking orders and processing sales accurately
•  Advising customers on hardware, tools, building materials and related products
•  Preparing and organising customer orders
•  Receiving, checking and putting away stock
•  Keeping the trade counter and surrounding areas clean and well organised
•  Building strong relationships with regular trade customers
•  Working as part of a friendly and supportive store team

Qualifications and Skills:

• Trade Counter/Building: 2 years (required)
• Friendly, reliable and approachable
• Confident dealing with customer
• A good communicator with a positive attitude
• Organised and able to work in a busy environment
• Comfortable working as part of a team
• Interested in hardware, tools, building products or DIY
• Previous trade-counter, hardware or sales experience is an advantage, but full training will be provided for the right person.

Hours of Work:

• 5 days per week between 8am to 6pm (8 hours a day / 40 hours per week).
• Reqirement to work Saturdays with one day off midweek.
