Job Type: Full-time, Permanent – 5 days onsite

About the Role

Our client is an established and growing manufacturing business based in Shannon, supporting customers across a range of technical sectors including electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, box build assembly and medical device manufacturing.

They are now seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team.

This is a fully onsite role, 5 days per week in Shannon, suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy, fast-paced environment and is comfortable supporting a broad range of finance and administration tasks.

The successful candidate will report to the Finance Manager and will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the accounts function, supporting areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, supplier/customer queries and general finance administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices, match purchase orders and resolve any invoice queries.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable duties.
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices as required.
  • Support credit control activity, including follow-up on outstanding payments.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and assist with bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and update internal systems.
  • Assist with month-end preparation and finance reporting.
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers and internal departments in a professional manner.
  • Support the finance team with general administration and ad hoc finance tasks.
  • Ensure all documentation is filed accurately and in line with company procedures.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in an accounts assistant, finance administration or bookkeeping role.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using accounting or ERP systems would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work well in a busy office/manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • A proactive, flexible and hands-on approach to work.
  • Relevant accounting technician, bookkeeping or finance qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.
