About the Role
Our client is an established and growing manufacturing business based in Shannon, supporting customers across a range of technical sectors including electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, box build assembly and medical device manufacturing.
They are now seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team.
This is a fully onsite role, 5 days per week in Shannon, suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy, fast-paced environment and is comfortable supporting a broad range of finance and administration tasks.
The successful candidate will report to the Finance Manager and will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the accounts function, supporting areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, supplier/customer queries and general finance administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices, match purchase orders and resolve any invoice queries.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable duties.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices as required.
- Support credit control activity, including follow-up on outstanding payments.
- Reconcile supplier statements and assist with bank reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate financial records and update internal systems.
- Assist with month-end preparation and finance reporting.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers and internal departments in a professional manner.
- Support the finance team with general administration and ad hoc finance tasks.
- Ensure all documentation is filed accurately and in line with company procedures.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in an accounts assistant, finance administration or bookkeeping role.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using accounting or ERP systems would be an advantage.
- Ability to work well in a busy office/manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
- A proactive, flexible and hands-on approach to work.
- Relevant accounting technician, bookkeeping or finance qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.
