Our client is a long-established Irish manufacturing business based in Co. Longford.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join a stable, well-established business with a strong reputation for quality, customer service and operational excellence.
Role Overview
The Accounts Assistant will support the day-to-day finance function, assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, invoice processing, supplier/customer queries and general finance administration.
This role would suit a detail-focused, organised and reliable accounts professional who enjoys working in a busy office environment and is comfortable supporting a hands-on finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices, purchase orders and delivery dockets accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with accounts payable, including supplier statement reconciliations and payment preparation.
- Support accounts receivable duties, including issuing invoices, allocating payments and following up on outstanding balances.
- Reconcile bank accounts, supplier accounts and customer accounts as required.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure documentation is filed correctly.
- Assist with month-end processes, reports and general ledger support.
- Handle finance-related queries from suppliers, customers and internal departments.
- Support payroll administration where required.
- Assist with VAT, revenue returns and compliance-related administration.
- Work closely with the wider office, sales, operations and logistics teams to ensure accurate financial information.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance department.
- Ad hoc finance and office duties as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Accounts Administrator or similar role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems.
- Experience with accounts payable and/or accounts receivable.
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise work in a busy environment.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A practical, flexible and hands-on approach.
- Experience in manufacturing, agri-business, logistics, FMCG or a similar environment would be an advantage but is not essential.
