Senior Quality Engineer – Galway

This role will focus on leading quality engineering projects for commercialised products and offers an excellent opportunity to join a highly innovative and growing organisation.

About the Role
Working Hours
Our client operates a flexible working model with core hours as follows:
- Monday to Thursday: 9:00am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 9:30am – 1pm
Hybrid Work
- 3 days onsite and 2 from home once settled in the company
Key Responsibilities
- Problem solving: Selects appropriate techniques for problem solving and makes solid and consistent Engineering and Quality Assurance recommendations.
- Make decisions: Has the responsibility and independent authority to make decisions related to product quality, including the disposition of non-conforming product.
- Customer Complaints investigation: Participates in Customer Complaints investigation for areas under their control.
- Leadership: Demonstrates and actively promotes highest levels of professional QA engineering discipline and rigor.
- Validation: Has expertise in validation engineering and is thoroughly familiar with all regulatory requirements.
- Continuous improvement: Champions continuous improvement and innovation from a quality perspective within the department right from vendor selection/approval through to customer awareness/satisfaction.
- Is an effective team member, fully motivated to achieve and demonstrate best practices in line with the department objectives.
- People management: Gives technical guidance to Quality Engineers, Associate Quality Engineers, technician and inspection staff.
- H&S: Works with EHS to identify significant environmental impacts of operations and to establish goals and targets around significant environmental impacts.
- Supplier management: Deals with suppliers, other engineering disciplines within and outside of Site and customers should the need arise.
- Internal auditing: Is familiar with the internal auditing process.
Qualifications
- Honours degree Level 8 in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar industry.
- Good technical capabilities, communication skills, teamwork abilities and initiative.
- Proven ability to work well as part of a team & on own with minimum supervision
- Strong written & verbal communication skills, with excellent stakeholder management
