Production Supervisor (Evening shift)

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Production Supervisor to lead evening shift operations within a fast-paced electronic manufacturing environment operating to ISO 13485 standards.
This role is ideally suited to a hands-on, solutions-focused leader with a passion for Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement and operational excellence. The successful candidate will be an influential people manager with the ability to engage, coach and develop high-performing teams while driving positive change across the production function. With a data-driven and process-oriented approach, they will be comfortable challenging existing ways of working, implementing best practices and delivering measurable improvements in productivity, quality and efficiency. Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, together with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment, will be key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop the evening shift production team, creating a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives and identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, quality and overall operational performance.
  • Champion continuous improvement by challenging existing processes, implementing best practices and encouraging employee involvement in improvement activities.
  • Monitor and drive production KPIs, ensuring production targets, quality standards and customer requirements are consistently achieved.
  • Analyse production performance, identify trends and implement corrective actions to address inefficiencies and recurring issues.
  • Lead problem-solving activities using structured root cause analysis to deliver sustainable process improvements.
  • Coordinate daily production activities to maximise workflow, resource utilisation and on-time delivery.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all production, quality, health & safety and facility matters during the evening shift.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions and quality standards.
  • Promote and maintain high standards of Health & Safety, 5S and workplace organisation.
  • Support training, coaching and cross-training initiatives to develop a flexible, high-performing production team.
  • Ensure effective communication and structured shift handovers to maintain operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and other cross-functional teams to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and implement process improvements.
  • Support the implementation of operational excellence initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce waste, enhance quality and strengthen overall manufacturing performance.
  • Foster a proactive, solution-focused mindset and help embed a culture where continuous improvement is part of everyday operations.

Education & Experience

  • Level 7 qualification (or above) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4–5 years' experience in a Production Supervisor or similar leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience within electronics manufacturing, cable assembly or another highly regulated manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives that have delivered measurable operational improvements.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, KPI management and operational performance.
  • Experience with Lean tools and methodologies such as 5S, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, Standard Work and Visual Management.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) or process transfer activities would be advantageous.
