CREGG are seeking an ambitious and motivated Financial Accountant to join our client’s Finance team based in Shannon, Co. Clare. This is a full-time position on a 9–12 month FTC, offering a hybrid working model. The Financial Accountant will support the Head of Finance and wider finance team across financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement within a dynamic and growing aviation finance business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly Management Accounts, including Debtors, Creditors, and Payroll.
- Complete monthly and quarterly reconciliations accurately and within reporting deadlines.
- Support the monthly financial close across multiple statutory entities, including variance analysis against budget and forecast.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and the preparation of strategic financial plans.
- Prepare monthly P&L and cash flow forecasts with supporting commentary.
- Support the planning and coordination of the year-end audit process.
- Develop financial dashboards and prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as required.
- Contribute to process reviews, system optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with internal and external accounting service providers where required.
- Participate in internal and external audits and assist with the preparation of statutory accounts.
- Support the preparation of monthly reporting packs, ensuring consistency across multiple entities and maintaining detailed supporting documentation.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Previous experience in financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to improve financial processes and efficiencies.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working with finance and budgeting systems within a growing organisation.
- Previous aviation sector experience, or a strong interest in developing a career within the aviation industry, would be highly advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
