Operations Manager

Operations Manager
CREGG are seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to join our client’s team based in Shannon, Co. Clare. This is a full-time, permanent position. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Operations Manager will lead all manufacturing and operational activities, driving operational excellence, production performance, supply chain efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all day-to-day manufacturing and operational activities across the factory.
  • Drive operational excellence through effective planning, performance management, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure alignment between business objectives, customer requirements, and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Contribute as a key member of the leadership team to support overall business performance and strategic planning.
  • Develop and manage the Master Production Schedule in line with sales forecasts and customer demand.
  • Drive schedule adherence and manufacturing efficiency through effective production control and visual management systems.
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams to support the successful introduction of new products into manufacturing.
  • Partner with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to ensure material availability supports production requirements.
  • Develop and manage robust Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
  • Optimise inventory levels while maintaining customer service performance and reducing working capital requirements.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing principles and lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, waste reduction, and cost optimisation.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and operational best practices.
  • Lead investigations into quality issues and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop production, planning, and operational teams to achieve high performance.
  • Promote employee engagement, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience leading manufacturing or operations teams within an instrumentation, electronics, medical device, precision engineering, or similar environment.
  • Proven experience managing factory operations, production planning, and supply chain functions.
  • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
  • Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of how operational performance impacts customer satisfaction and business profitability.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
