Health and Safety Manager

Job purpose:
Our client is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and develop the company’s Health & Safety function across its business operations and retrofit projects. This is a senior role responsible for developing and maintaining a robust Health & Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with Irish legislation and SEAI One Stop Shop requirements, while driving a strong and proactive safety culture across the organisation.
This is a newly created role where you’ll take ownership of the company’s Health & Safety function, developing and implementing H&S systems, policies and procedures across the business. They’re looking for a hands-on, proactive professional who can help build and develop the function as the company continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the company’s Health & Safety strategy, policies and management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Irish H&S legislation and SEAI One Stop Shop requirements.
  • Manage risk assessments, audits, inspections and incident investigations.
  • Provide H&S guidance and support to management, site teams, contractors and subcontractors.
  • Monitor H&S performance, KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee contractor H&S management, training and competency requirements.
  • Support the safe delivery of domestic and commercial retrofit projects.
  • Promote and embed a strong, proactive Health & Safety culture across the organisation.

Education and Experience:

  • Level 8+ qualification in Health & Safety, Safety Management or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years’ H&S experience within construction, ideally at senior level.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish H&S legislation and construction safety.
  • Experience with risk management, audits, inspections and incident investigations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel.
