Role Overview

Our client is currently seeking an experienced and highly organised M&E Coordinator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all mechanical and electrical (M&E) services throughout the construction lifecycle, ensuring that works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and in accordance with the project specifications, drawings and relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate mechanical and electrical services from design development through to construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Review M&E drawings, specifications, schedules and technical submissions to identify discrepancies, clashes and coordination issues.
  • Coordinate M&E services with architectural, structural and other building elements.
  • Work with specialist M&E subcontractors to ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
  • Attend and contribute to design, coordination and construction meetings.
  • Manage technical queries, RFIs and design-related issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Review subcontractor drawings, builders' work requirements, technical submittals and material proposals.
  • Assist with the development and management of M&E installation programmes.
  • Monitor progress of M&E works against the overall construction programme.
  • Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and site management to resolve technical and coordination issues.
  • Ensure M&E installations comply with project specifications, Building Regulations, relevant Irish standards and statutory requirements.
  • Support the commercial team with the review of variations, valuations and subcontractor claims where required.
  • Coordinate builders' work openings, penetrations, plant rooms, risers and service routes.
  • Assist with inspection, testing and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation is maintained throughout the project.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of O&M manuals, as-built information and handover documentation.
  • Support the Project Manager and Site Management Team in achieving programme, quality, safety and commercial objectives.
  • Promote a proactive approach to quality assurance, health and safety and environmental requirements.

Key Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in an M&E coordination role within the construction industry.
  • Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services.
  • Experience working on commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare, pharmaceutical or other complex construction projects.
  • Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Experience coordinating specialist subcontractors and design teams.
  • Strong knowledge of the construction process and M&E interfaces.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to demanding project programmes.
  • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant construction/design software.
  • Experience with BIM/Revit/Navisworks would be an advantage.
  • A strong understanding of Irish construction practices, regulations and standards.
