Electrical Design Engineer (EPLAN)

A growing specialist engineering company in Sligo are hiring an Electrical Design Engineer with EPLAN experience on a permanent basis.

This company provides automation and electrical engineering solutions to multinational clients in the Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical and Medical sectors.

No travel is required.

The role

• The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and documenting electrical control and automation systems, primarily using EPLAN, alongside AutoCAD Electrical, WSCAD and SolidWorks.
• Key work includes electrical schematics, control panel layouts, P&IDs, PLC I/O, motor and safety circuits, BOMs, cable schedules, terminal diagrams, and 3D enclosure/cable-routing designs.
• The role also involves collaboration across engineering disciplines and may include mentoring junior engineers and technicians, with previous leadership experience considered an advantage.

Requirements

• The ideal candidate will have an Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related degree.
• 3+ years of relevant industrial/automation experience, and advanced EPLAN skills.
• Strong knowledge of control panels, LV switchgear, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, electrical standards and wiring regulations is required.
